The Urban Hut by Takehiko Nez Architects
Takehiko Nez Architects have designed the Urban Hut, is a multi-level private home in the bustling city of Tokyo, Japan. This a small house with a clever layout and arrangement, that ample with floor space from the open programs that are stacked on top of each other. Each storey operates as one room with no barriers to create separate areas throughout the home. Natural light pours into the roof light over the main staircase that further expands into each area of the room. Lucent glass panels become a part of the circulation core of the dwelling which serves as a light well all the way through to the ground floor. The top floor defines as two purposes that performs as a platforom like stage and a mini-loft. Walls and celings are exposed to create a bare and minimalist aesthetic like the traditional design of a hut.
