Exotic Villa Resort – Residence Zanzibar designed by design firm HBA / Hirsch Bedner Associates and the company is an attractive resort located in a remote corner on the island of Zanzibar. Here is the information that we recently submitted by the project developer: “Stretching over 80 acres, with 66 villas designed by HBA prides colonial theme and draw inspiration from the Swahili language, Oman, UK and Indian culture is present in Zanzibar. Each villa has own oasis with a private terrace and pool, but still modern and natural structures, suitable to the environment. David T’Kint and Hazlin Ahmad, HBA Associates noted, “We found Zanzibar to become a great resource for inspiration and sourced a lot of artifacts and furniture in the villa of the local markets and shops. “All the furniture in Residence Zanzibar which reflect the cultural mix of various influences in the history of Zanzibar. For example, four-poster bed in the villa to remind the British style and flanked by two nightstands inspired by the forms India and materials like metal beaten. In the bathroom, dressing table custom designed to integrate the simplified pattern of Swahili while wall sconces motifs taken from traditional Omani.
Local sources of artifacts found throughout the Residence, including artwork hand-painted with various scenes of Zanzibar as well as photographs commissioned from dhows – Arab sailing vessel. All the buildings house a collection of interesting items including rods carved in the Lobby, a large kettle of tea and coffee in the Omani Pavilion Restaurant, traditional Stonetown door in the Dining Room and local hand-made vases at the Spa. In the villa, the HBA uses the color scheme of white and subtle shades of cream with honey-colored wood and tile sandy. The result is romantic and different settings in which guests can enjoy a sophisticated environment. via
